a pleasant little surprise
Remember a couple of weeks ago I mentioned in a post that our school had had these "substance free" signs, and taken them all down before I got a picture of one? Well, I was walking through the elementary school tonight, and lo and behold, there one was.
Not only does it cast a bit of doubt on the depth and scope of elementary education, it's also another great example of why not to use double-negatives.
Also, just across the street from the school, there's this:
What I think is especially funny is the sign over the door that says "Grandpapa's Place". Um, how sweet!

The rusty-colored "Grandpapa's Place" sign gives me the creeps...
But the warning spray painted on the door *is* pretty funny.

Yes, I do take my own pictures, I take a bunch on my digital and usually a few are OK-I am just learning.I have seen your photoblog before-you are a great photographer.
Those signs outside of schools make me glad we homeschool-we are a substance free area too!!! ;)

I love random stuff like that. Remember that truck that used to drive around with that sign that said something about Catholic priests and nuns in underground convent cells? I have a photo of it. I think my favorite it that one that you took "I'm in one of those towns, out of jail, not girlfriend, etc."

I can't get over the first sign. How bizarre--and in an elementary school (!). Just weird.
