Resolutions
Kristen has the gall (and good fortune) to MOVE AWAY FROM CALIFORNIA. I mean, come on, it's not like I have friends coming out my EARS here, and she's taking one of them all the way across the country. That is not very nice.
However, it happens that she'll be nearer to my neck of the woods than usual before she goes, so it is possible that I may be able to travel to San Francisco and meet her. So, in the event that that should occur, here are my Serious Resolutions.
- I will not snort when I laugh (please God).
- I will attempt to assess at least a few the things I am going to say before I say them, so as to avert a small amount of the usual self-flagellation on the way home over having said really goofy embarrassing things.
- I cannot guarantee I will not be clumsy. I do, however, resolve to avoid injuring Kristen, if at all possible.
- I will try (although it will be hard) not to drive Kristen crazy with my whole stopping-every-three-seconds-to-take-a-photograph habit. Although I think I may as well apologize in advance for breaking this one. Sorry, Kristen.
- I will not say "crap" or "freaking". I do, when I'm nervous. Some women giggle. I pseudo-swear.
- I will not get so involved in conversation that I lose my children. Hey, it could happen.
- I will occasionally stop for breath, and to let Kristen get a few words in. She may have to smack me a few times until I remember this one, though.
P.S. On a totally unrelated note, I could use your help over at my photo blog in the next few days. Please?

Wouldn't it be totally bitchin if I drove up to San Fran and met you both there? Hey, I'm off for a month, who knows...Unless of course, you want this to be a private play date; which I would totally understand. I don't even know if I'd be able to do it. It would have to be a weekend and we would have to make sure we had arranged a place to stay with one of our many friends who already live there. Darn lucky sons of, wait; I love them! No hard feelings here...

I really, really think we are the same person now. I occasionally snort when I laugh, I am clumsy, and I have been known to pseudo-swear when nervous (I HOPE I didn't do that when meeting Amy the Humble, but I don't remember). But a good memory in such cases is unpardonable!
You'd better NOT "assess" what you're going to say before you say it! :) You'll be with a good friend, you know.

I am in the process of marking some pictures with pictures I like for the photo entry. Not that they aren't all fabulous!
Just finished "... Dog in the Night-time." Excellent read! Thanks for the recommendation.

Not only do I snort when I laugh, I cackle like a witch. I mean, even if I laugh at something that nobody else thinks is funny; my laugh alone makes them laugh. I guess that's a good thing, but it's sort of embarrassing when people I don't even know in the middle of a dark movie turn to look and see who the heina is. I bought Dog in the Night-Time and Time Traveler's Wife because I've heard they are awesome books, but they sit there collecting dust because I haven't read them yet...Still trying to finish the Hitchhiker's Guide. Mat lent me a huge hardback version of all the books together. I am on the third book, which means I'm half-way through the thing. Anyways, I'm rambling on your comments again...

I can safely say you broke none of your resolutions! ;)
