so much like somebody I know...
Ah, a girl after my own heart. How often did I get dragged along as a child to rather uninteresting (or at least less interesting than a new Nancy Drew book) adult activities, and find some way to bury myself in a story?
Not that, um, I do that now. At all. Nope, way too grown up to take a book with me everywhere just in case I get to sneak in a few minutes' worth of reading at some point. Me?
P.S. The dress was a little much for a baby shower, but she wanted to wear it, and she's only going to outgrow it (very soon) anyway. And no, I didn't make that one, but I wish I had, because I swear every time I take her somewhere in it someone assumes I did.

So sweet! She's a cutie. I still take books everywhere I go, too. Just in case. I even took one to an arts conference this weekend. An arts conference! Where I was sure to be filled with a bunch of very artsy, creative, cerebral stuff! But one never does know, does one?

C is so cute! And I take a book with me everywhere, too! You never know when you might sneak in a page or two. I even took one with me when we went to Rockport, MA, this past weekend.

I was TOTALLY the same way. Ask any one of my relatives, whom I now realize probably felt I was being rude at any family gathering, when I'd have my nose buried in my newest Bobbsey Twins/Nancy Drew mystery (and, later--CONFESSION!--The Sweet Valley High series). I really did read some good literature later...honest!....Where are you going? Hello?

Oh, and C looks adorable in that dress. Simply adorable.

Yeah, I still take a book with me everywhere I go. Best places to read a book? Airport, DMV, Doctor's Office, babysitting, anywhere you might have to sit around for a while and not be bothered by anyone. The park, the beach. It's a good deterent for those who don't want anyone to come up and talk to them. It made two hours waiting to be dismissed from jury duty go by like a snap. She is adorable too.
