this is the same child...
...as is pictured in this entry. Really it is.
*Edited: Forgot to mention, she's not grimacing in pain, she's laughing maniacally. She and her brother had been having a waterfight (hence the shield and the water pistol) and she'd started playing in the mud. She swears she wasn't eating it, and I WANT to believe her...)

As one who was there (the target of the kids relentless advance), I can verify that C was having the time of her life! Even though I was present, I am mystified by the mud-beard as well.
Imagine that face poking out from behind her shield with a swim mask on to boot! I laughed so hard, only my amazement at her muddiness gave me the strength to stay on task and spray her with the hose (which I had already done for nearly a minute when this picture was taken)
What a cutie!

LOL! Well that is good. It looked like she was really upset!

It didn't look like she was that upset to me. Looked more like that evil "I'm going to get you so bad," look that my kitty gives me when she's about to maul, THE CLAW. (I hold my hand up in a claw style and she gets this really crazy look in her eyes and LEAPS to attack it). I swear, sometimes it looks like dogs and cats GRIN like children. (That is so sad that I said that, I sound like one of those old widows in an apartment with twelve cats and no children she can call her own).

LOLOL, I just had an image of what you guys must have thought people perceived when they saw this photo. I can see how it might look like a torture victim photo. However, the look in her eyes really gives away the bloodlust. The mud beared is hysterical though.

Oh, dear. Claire! Goodness me. One saving grace - she wasn't wearing the dress you didn't make :-)
