another new photographic venture
The thirty days of self-portraits are done. I had so much fun torturing myself with that project that I've moved on to another, details of which are here (click the "about this project" link). Anyone else want to join me? :)

Rachel--
I wanted to tell you earlier how much I enjoyed your self-portrait project (although I admittedly felt like a tad bit of a peeping Tom, for some strange reason). I think the photos you put in showed a lot of angles of you -- pensive, happy, motherly, romantic. It was fascinating waiting to see which shade of your personality would be pixelated the next day.
The new 28 days project you mention sounds fun -- would I have to start today? And would I have to follow the list and incorporate that software to do it?

Yeah, I think I might join you on this and then afterwards I'll do the self-portrait one.

ooh, goody! more people! :)
1) No, you do not have to use my list. You can make up your own. You're welcome to use mine if you want to, however.
2) No, you don't have to use the Pixelpost software. It's simple enough as web applications go but there are way simpler ways of doing things, especially for people who don't already have their own webspace. A lot of people use Blogger for photo blogs, or there's something called pbase that I've seen used a lot as well but never tried. With blogger, you just create a blog and use their "add photo" function.
3) No, you don't have to start today. You can start whenever. When you do start, send a link and I'll add you to the sidebar and/or the About page.

I went and looked through all your self-portraits and have to say... I think you may have inspired me to try something like it. We have a digital camera, but I hardly ever use it... I'm simply too used to analog cameras to realize the potential of a digital one, where you can just delete the pictures, if they don't turn out right.
Besides, I am SO not photogenic, so there are very few pictures of me around, perhaps forcing myself to take some will be a good thing for once.
In general, I just want to try to play around with the camera more, and see what comes of it.
...Now I just have to convince my DH to not constantly bring the camera to work with him (he works with trains and is a train-spotter, so.... ;) )

Sounds like fun! :o) I think I'll give it a try, too, but I'll probably just put my efforts into daily journal entries. (I'm too lazy to make a separate page!)

I didn't see an 'About' link, and when I clicked the Previous link it took me to the self-portrait series. (Which, by the way I loved; I will be posting my second weekend's self-portrait once I download all the shots from this weekend.)

Paula, thanks so much for letting me know about that Previous link! Rather than starting from scratch with CSS, I just adapted the templates from my 30-day project, and I neglected to update those links. Whoops!
The 'about' link is at the top of the right-hand column.
