politics (no need to flee)
The Internet is chock-full of candidate-matching quizzes this time of year, but none has satisfied me as much as glassbooth.org. Most of the ones I've tried just give you a list of candidates in order, but this one goes into detail, complete with quotes from candidates on issues, and does a very good job of assigning weight to the issues that matter to you.
(I wound up with pretty nearly a four-way tie among four candidates, one of whom surprised me. The one who'll get my vote might surprise you. Any guesses?)
(waves at Kat, who has been so diligently supplying the knitting-and-literary blogworld with politics links. Hi Kat!)

Just - I hope not Huckabee. He scares the daylights out of me.

Nope, not Huckabee. I'm not terribly keen on the idea of having him in office because I think it would annoy a WHOLE lot of people (not me, but I'm tired of the whining) to have four more years of an overt Christian in the Oval Office, and there are other candidates whose positions are slightly closer to my views on most issues.

I don't actually have a problem with an overt Christian in the Oval Office. Some of the ones we've had so far have been very good Presidents. I just have a problem with one who wants to change the Constitution to take out protections for people of all faiths or none.

Hi! Waving back! Kind of you not to mention that you must disagree with most of the links I post. :) Hee.
Oh, and as for guesses... Ron Paul?

I think I know who you are voting for. I will have to take that quiz now

I've been thinking of getting in a discussion with you about the platforms. I'm having trouble understanding some stuff and I know you're just the person to explain it to me. Let me know when you have time for a chat.
